LDS Church’s ‘front door’ policy pays off in Africa

PROVO — An LDS chapel and institute of religion are the only buildings left on a street in Abuja, Nigeria.

Other churches and businesses once occupied the area, but were razed over a four-year span for not complying with zoning laws.

The land is now mostly a national park, but the two Mormon structures remain.

“Why? Because we had all of the papers,” said Elder Adesina J. Olukanni, Area Seventy and director of public affairs for the Africa West Area. “We went in through the front door.” …

  1. This is a wonderful site and I am thankful that my brethren who are black have a voice. The church from the beginning has gone thru the front door in all that they have done from the founding of the church under the direction of Jesus Christ. The problem has been that the world has refused to receive and accept the word of the Lord in most things the church represents even though it was the doctrine of the Lord. Daniel tells the story of what will happen as his prophecy continues to unfold as recorded in the 2nd chapter of his book in the old testament.
